Hi this is Colin from Andrews Farm, North of Adelaide in SA. Bought my FJR 2 weeks ago (07 Oct-Admin) and have added a Classic Trailers Tow bar, MC Cruise Control and am in the process of fitting my GPS system - a combo PC/Navman.

I recently purchased a second hand Kamparoo trailer that had been horrendously modified, it was extended 3 feet and a huge but ugly storage box had been fitted to the front (4' X 2'6" X 2'10").  All of the crap has been removed and Will be replaced by a Waeco fridge and a 24AH battery.

The plan is to leave home later this week, probably Thursday and begin a 4 week trek around the Eastern half of Oz, heading up to Darwin, across to Cairns and down through QLD, NSW, ACT and Vic.  I hope to pick up a few Rallies on the run also.

I have enclosed a couple of pics.

Regards

Colin ...

Good to see that some one in Oz has had the good sense to start an Aussie forum and website for FJR riders.  I have been riding bikes for 35 years and have owned all manner of bikes in that time but it is very handy for ppl to be able to chat and share knowledge and experience at a common level, good on you for making a start, I look forward to being a regular contributor.

Well its just about time to head of on my 1/2 way around Oz journey.  Have modified the Cub Kamparoo to take the 40 litre Waeco fridge, fitted the 24AH battery, mounted th Gearsack rack (after unbolting the CBR1100XX brackets I made and cutting off the ST1100 brackets) It now has a new home.

I expect to be leaving about 12:00 pm tomorrrow if all goes well, most of the packing has been done and all off the prep work has been completed, just need to add the days maps to my GPS unit, do my food shopping, load the fridge with beer and food and beer and Jack Daniels and I will be ready to hit the road for the next 4? weeks.

My wifes says don't rush if you need more time, take it, I have always been one for taking advice...
