I bought my '03 third hand in September last year. It has a well detailed history from all fluid changes down to bulb replacements. I have added 18000+km since. I also have a couple of FJ1200's that get the occasional km's, usually when I'm on my own as the FJR is my wife's choice of pillion seat. I'm 54, started riding at 17 and, like many, had a few years off while kids were growing up. Rode one of the FJ's to Perth from Sydney a couple of years ago, towed a trailer. Great way to spend a couple of weeks riding 6500km's
My FJR has Staintunes, Laminar-Flow screen extension, FendaExtenda, radiator protector, TomTom Rider GPS, sheepskin seatcovers, and R-Jays topbox.
Also bought pannier inserts for use when travelling, so much easier to pack.
A solid state video camera is on the way.
I've had the FJR across the Nullabour a couple of times ( SA and back ) with 5 days around SA, from Adelaide to Murray Bridge, Burra, Wilpena Pound and back to Adelaide. Then home in 2 days, close to 2000km the 2nd day. What a tourer.
Usual rides are day rides with friends, 2-600km. I'm lucky to have a wife that loves travelling as pillion, makes life easy.
